Op 8 mei hebben we een groot geschenk ontvangen van Onze Lieve Vrouw van Lujan: de eerste pater die benoemd is tot bisschop!
Op 8 mei, vieren wij het Hoogfeest van onze patrones Onze Lieve Vrouw van Lujan. Wij paters zijn op 8 mei 2004 canoniek goedgekeurd als religieus Instituut van diocesaan recht door Z.E. Mgr. Andrea Maria Erba, bisschop van Velletri-Segni (Italië). Vandaag is dat dus 20 jaar geleden! En Moeder Maria heeft de Kerk en onze Congregatie op deze dag een bijzonder geschenk gegeven: de eerste pater die tot bisschop is benoemd!
Alle paters en zusters van de Religieuze Familie van het Mensgeworden Woord feliciteren pater Teodoro met zijn nieuwe ambt en beloven hem gebed en geestelijke steun.

Appointment of bishop of the eparchy of Mukachevo of Byzantine Rite, Ukraine
The Holy Father has appointed the Reverend Fr. Teodor Matsapula, I.V.E., parish priest of Krasna and syncellus for religious of the eparchy of Mukachevo of Byzantine Rite, Ukraine, as bishop of the same eparchy.
Curriculum vitae
Msgr. Teodor Matsapula was born on 21 August 1981, in Krylos, in the region of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine.
In 2001 he entered the novitiate of the Institute of the Incarnate Word, continuing his studies at the International San Vitaliano Seminary, in Segni, and at the San Bruno Centre for Higher Studies (2002-2008). On 25 August 2007 he gave his perpetual vows and on 10 February 2008 he was ordained a priest.
From 2008 to 2013 he provided pastoral service for Catholic faithful of Byzantine rite outside Ukraine. Upon returning to his home country, he continued his ministry in the eparchy of Mukachevo. From 2013 to 2019 he was proto-hegumen of the then-delegation of the Mother of God of Zarvanytsia, in Ukraine. From 2017 he was syncellus for religious of the Greek-Catholic eparchy of Mukachevo. In 2018 he obtained a bachelor’s degree in letters from the National University of Prykarpattia and, in 2022, he was awarded a licentiate in pastoral theology from the Ukrainian Catholic University.
Besides Ukrainian, he knows Russian, Italian, Spanish and Polish.
